Person Struck, Killed By Train On Long Island

An unidentified person was struck and killed by a train on the Long Island Railroad.

The person, who was on the tracks, was struck around 6:40 a.m., Monday, Oct. 19, east of Brentwood, said MTA Spokesman Michael Cortez.

Service was suspended between Ronkonkoma and Hicksville during the recovery efforts. Service was restored at approximately 8 a.m., with residual delays lasting up to 90 minutes, Cortez said.

No criminality is suspected, he added.
