Passing Motorist Finds Long Island Bicyclist Critically Injured

A bicyclist is in critical condition after being found injured by a passerby on Long Island.

The passing motorist called 911 at about 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, Suffolk County Police said.

The motorist located the man in East Northport lying injured next to a bicycle, on the side of Deposit Road, near McFadden Drive, according to police. The man, Vincent Farrugia, 61, of Commack, was unconscious with a head injury.

Farrugia was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.

The incident does not appear to be criminal in nature but detectives are asking for anyone with information on this incident to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
