A man allegedly threatened his neighbors with a shotgun in an ongoing dispute in Wantagh.

The incident on Monday, Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m. led to the man's arrest for menacing, according to Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, the defendant, Joseph Magistro, 33, of Bayview Avenue, became enraged with his neighbors over an ongoing dispute and approached the front of their house with a black colored shotgun in his hands, as he threw barbells into the windows shattering the glass.

Magistro allegedly proceeded to also break a window in the back of the house as he screamed and verbally threatened to cause physical injury to the victims by using the shotgun, said police.

The victims, a female, 62, and a male, 17, while being confronted, both retreated back inside the house after going outside to investigate, according to police.

Both victims who were placed in fear of their safety remained inside while they called the police.

Upon police arrival, a subsequent investigation was conducted and Magistro was placedĀ under arrest without further incident.

Magistro was medically treated at the scene for a laceration to his hand and transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. No other injuries were reported.

Magistro is being charged with two counts of second-degree menacing; two counts of second-degree aggravated harassment; third-degree criminal trespass; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon; and second-degree criminal mischief.

He will be arraigned on Tuesday, Sept. 24 in First District Court, Hempstead.
