Man Charged For String Of Larcenies On Long Island

A string of thefts from vehicles in Suffolk County this month has led to the arrest of an area man on Saturday, July 20.

Following an investigation of larcenies in Middle Island and Ridge by Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers, Michael Pearl, 26, of Middle Island was identified in several larceny cases where he took items from parked, unlocked cars in the Ridge and Middle Island areas.

Pearl was charged with six counts of criminal possession of stolen property for:

  • Stealing power tools from a 2001 Ford E350, parked on Oakridge Circle, Ridge, on May 22.
  • Stealing landscaping tools from a 2019 Sparta utility trailer, parked on Ashford Drive, Ridge, on July 8.
  • Stealing coins and sunglasses from a 2012 Ford F250 and a 2008 Ford Edge, parked on Ryan Court, Ridge, on July 18.
  • Stealing gift cards and cash from a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, parked on Kastal Drive, Ridge, on July 18
  • Stealing headphones from an unknown vehicle on Kastal Drive, in Ridge, on July 18.
  • Stealing a knife from an unspecified car parked on Kastal Drive in Ridge, on July 19.

Pearl is being held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, July 21.
