A 27-year-old Long Island woman was seriously injured after her car overturned after crashing into a tree, police say.
The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 in Ridge, Suffolk County Police said.
The woman, Leeann Stadier, of Miller Place, was driving a 2016 Toyota sedan northbound on Smith Road, near Medford Road, when the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a tree and overturned, police said.
Members of Ridge Heavy Rescue along with Suffolk County Police Emergency Service Section officers worked to extricate Stadier from the vehicle.
Stadier was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition.
