Christopher Slattery, 46, of Farmingville, was stopped by Suffolk County Sheriff's deputies around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, for allegedly driving over the speed limit, said Sgt. Paul Spinella.
Slattery was stopped on the Long Island Expressway in Brookhaven after he was clocked driving 75 mph when the posted speed limit was 55 mph, said Spinella.
While stopped, Slattery demonstrated clues while performing standardized field sobriety tests indicating he was intoxicated, Spinella said.
He was arrested and charged with felony DWI. Following his arrest he refused to submit to a chemical breath test, police said.
During a search, Slattery was also found to be in possession of concentrated cannabis, marijuana, diazepam (valium), cocaine, testosterone, and trenbolone, an anabolic steroid. A search of his license history found it had been suspended or revoked 27 total times, Spinella said.
In addition to the charge of felony driving while intoxicated. Slattery was also charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
