The Long Island Expressway has reopened in Suffolk County following a five-vehicle crash that injured five people.

The crash took place around 6:53 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, westbound near Exit 53, said the Suffolk County Police.

Police did not know the extent of the injuries but did say all five drivers were taken to area hospitals.

The crash is under investigation by detectives.
