LI Man Surrenders To Police After Allegedly Exposing Himself To Woman Driving Next To Him

Long Island man has turned himself in to police after he allegedly exposed himself to a female motorist.

According to detectives, Christopher Merenlander, 33, of West Hempstead, was in his gray Subaru RX near the intersection of Hempstead Avenue and Atlas Avenue, where he exposed himself to a woman driving in a vehicle next to his Monday, Sept. 23 at 2:20 p.m. in Malverne Park, Nassau County Police said.

The victim, after observing the Merenlander, attempted to drive away, but Merenlander followed her for several blocks while continuing to expose himself to her before eventually driving away, police said. An investigation was conducted leading to his identification. 

On Friday Oct. 18, at 8:45 a.m., Merenlander turned himself in to police at the 5th Precinct and was placed under arrest without further incident.

Merenlander was charged with public lewdness and was arraigned at the First District Court in Hempstead.
