A Long Island man was charged with drinking and driving following a single-vehicle crash, state police said.
Early on Monday, Nov. 11, troopers from Poughkeepsie stopped Farmingdale resident Richard Tortoso, 27, on the Taconic State Parkway in LaGrange in Dutchess County when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash.
During the investigation into the crash, troopers determined that Tortoso was under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested.
Troopers transported Tortoso to New York State Police barracks in Poughkeepsie, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
Following his processing, Tortoso was released and issued an appearance ticket to return to court later at a later date.
