According to the Suffolk County Police Department, a man put up flyers in a Medford laundromat advertising an apartment for rent located on Sipp Avenue.

The man did not own the apartment, police claim, but two families paid the scammer several thousands of dollars on Tuesday, March 14.

Detectives believe that the scammer may have been working with another man and woman, and that he drove a dark-colored sedan.

A cash reward is being offered to anyone who can provide the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers with information that leads to an arrest.
