Body Found In North Amityville Home

Police are working to identify a badly decomposed body that was found inside an abandoned North Amityville home.

The body was found around 12:15 p.m., Thursday, May 30, in the vacant home on Schliegel Boulevard, said the Suffolk County Police.

Homicide detectives were unable to determine the cause of death due to decomposition. 

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner will attempt to determine the cause of death and identify the person.
