Alert Issued For Wanted Nassau County Woman

An alert has been issued by police in for a Long Island woman who violated her probation after allegedly overdosing on heroin and crashing her vehicle into a storage unit.

The Nassau County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down Kristie Steele, 34, of Island Park, who is wanted by the Nassau County Court for allegedly violating the conditions of her probation following her arrest for the crash.

Steele was driving south on National Boulevard in February 2017 when she lost control of her vehicle, hit a snow bank and struck the storage pod.

Upon arrival, officers found Steele unconscious and not breathing. First responders had to administer Narcan to revive her at the scene. At the time of the crash, police said that Steele’s 8-year-old son was home alone.

Investigators described Steele as 5-foot weighing approximately 135 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
