Alert Issued For Missing Long Island Teen

An alert has been issued for a missing Long Island teenager who was reported missing from a group home.

The Suffolk County Police Department issued an alert on Thursday, Jan. 9 for 17-year-old Erica Lathan, who was reported missing from a group home on Stony Brook Road in Stony Brook last September.

According to police, Lathan voluntarily left the home at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3 with another female resident and hasn’t been seen since. Investigators said she could possibly be in New York City as they continue attempts to locate her.

Police described Lathan as 5-foot-5, weighing approximately 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts has been asked to contact the Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad by calling (631) 854-8652 or calling 911.
