A 13-year-old was seriously injured after she was hit by a motor vehicle while riding her bicycle on Long Island.

The crash occurred just after 6:35 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19 in Mastic.

The girl, Paiton Muens, of Mastic, was struck by a 2016 Toyota RAV4, being operated by Hugo Sinay-Boch, 30, while riding her bicycle northbound on Mastic Road, between Hampton Avenue and Main Avenue, Suffolk County Police said.

Muens was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Sinay-Boch, also of Mastic, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
