A registered sex offender who was convicted of forcibly touching a teenage girl has reported a move in Nassau County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Nassau residents regarding the residency of 65-year-old Garay Damasco, who has moved to an address on Johnson Place to Rosedale Avenue in Freeport.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Damasco as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Damasco had sexual contact with his 15-year-old victim in March 2014 and he was convicted of forcibly touching other person's intimate parts in January the following year. Damasco was arrested by the NYCPD Sex Offender Unit and sentenced to a term of 60 days in jail and six years probation. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Freeport Village Police Department.
