Long Island Woman Announced As Contestant On New Season Of 'The Bachelor'

A 29-year-old Long Island woman will be a contestant on the new season of the long-running reality series "The Bachelor."

On Wednesday, Jan. 4, the show announced the group of women who will feature in the 27th season, including Long Islander Sonia Sharma.

According to showrunners, Sharma works as a project manager and hoped to find a family-oriented partner in bachelor Zach Shallcross. Her precise place of residence on Long Island was not released.

The new season is set to premiere on ABC on Monday, Jan. 23. Episodes can also be viewed on demand and on Hulu the day after they premiere.
