Chiropractor On Long Island Sexually Abused Teenage Patient, Police Say

A Long Island chiropractor is facing charges after he allegedly sexually abused a teenage patient, authorities said.

Ronald Bernardini, age 64, of Smithtown, was arrested following an investigation into the incident, which allegedly occurred at his office, called Lake Chiropractic, located in Ronkonkoma on Portion Road.

Suffolk County Police said Bernardini was examining a 16-year-old girl for back pain on Monday, Oct. 24, when he forcibly touched her breasts.

The girl later reported the incident to her parents, who called the police.

Bernardini was arrested at his office the following day on a charge of third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday, Nov. 14.
