Ikedo Ramen, located in Carle Place at 19 Old Country Road, held its grand opening in late February 2023.

It marked the second Long Island location for the eatery, which touts its authentic Japanese dishes, according to its website.

Donning the menu are several appetizers, each accompanied by a homemade sauce. Among them is the Takoyaki, consisting of fried octopus balls topped with Japanese mayo, aonori, and bonito flakes.

Diners can also choose from several salads, stir fry, and curry dishes.

But the main attraction, as the name implies, is the ramen. Made with a “rich and opaque” pork bone broth, customers can design their own bowls with over 15 different toppings to choose from, reads the website.

Customer favorites, according to its Yelp page, include the Tonkotsu Ramen, featuring Chashu pork belly, minced pork, fish cake, a half-cooked egg, bamboo shoots, black fungus, green onion, and black garlic oil in house tonkotsu broth.

Among the vegan options are the Shoyu Ramen, made with vegan noodles, avocado, corn, cherry tomatoes, cauliflower, enoki mushrooms, spring mix, lime, fried onion, and sesame oil in vegan shoyu broth topped with yuzu shisho paste.

In the months since opening, Ikedo Ramen has garnered plenty of positive reviews from satisfied diners.

“Pleasantly surprised by this ramen spot in Carle Place!” Sharon L., of Brooklyn, wrote on Yelp.

“Ikedo hits almost all the elements for a good ramen: the broth was delicious and flavorful, the noodles were springy and perfectly cooked, & the toppings were varied and generous.”

Shamik M, of garden City, was equally impressed after ordering the spicy Tonkatsu, gyoza, tempura udon, and the chicken karaage.

“Each piece of chicken was huge!” he wrote on Yelp. “The udon broth had a nice smoky Benito flavor, and the tonkatsu was excellent with black garlic oil on top. Will return!”
