Landing at Jones Beach, which opened in the West Bathhouse in 2018, will not be back this summer.
The Landing operated for two years and the contract was terminated in December, George Gorman, the regional director of New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, told Daily Voice.
"State Park’s has gone through the competitive bid process where a new operator was selected and the restaurant and catering facility will be open for the season in early summer, possibly as early as Memorial Day weekend," he said in an email.
Gorman did not reveal the name of the restaurant.
'We are going through the award process now and that will be finalized within the next couple of weeks," Gorman said.
In addition to the dining in, sit-down restaurant, the park has Boardwalk Cafe at Central Mall, which is a quasi-sit-down restaurant.
There are six concession stands available throughout the park at various parking fields.
