Salt On The Water, 3100 Whaleneck Drive, Rockville Centre: It's on the water and the eatery serves modern American fare and seasonal cocktails. You can go by car or boat for in or outdoor dining. The chef is a "Chopped Champion," according to the website. Dishes include Shrimp Cavatelli, Caribbean Salmon, Pan-seared Salmon, and New York Strip Steak.

A Facebook review post by Peggyanne Shaw says, "Food was amazing. I had the Ahi Tuna entree. Perfectly rare as good tuna should be. My friend has the seafood risotto equally perfect. We each had a cocktail and we split the chocolate lava cake for dessert."

Roslyn Social 1363 Old Northern Blvd., Roslyn: The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and offers "elevated" pub food, hand-crafted cocktails, a robust beer menu. Features include 17 large-screen TVs, two dining rooms, and an open-air rooftop.

From a "Big Plates" menu you might try, baby back ribs, beer-battered fish and chips.

Lauren K. of New York City says on Yelp, "Loving this new place! I can't wait to try it on a weekend evening because I know it's going to be a fun spot! Came on a Friday afternoon around 4 and had the Rose drink with the popsicle. I also had a burger and split the spinach and artichoke dip. Everything was good!"

Effin Beauty2562 Sunrise Highway, Bellmore: Here's where to socialize and enjoy beer, craft cocktails, wine, burgers, small plates/tapas-style eats and a late-night menu. The fun includes drag queen bingo Mondays, taco Tuesdays, and "thirsty" Thursdays, with live music.

A review on Yelp by Walter F., of Queens, says, "Effin Amazing!!! Food is great!!! Burgers are beyond. My wife likes fruity drinks and bartender managed to create something off the menu and it came out great! Manager and owner are on site and they are awesome people! If you want the best drink for your buck in this gastropub, get Grimm's Triple IPA."

317 Main Street, 317 Main St., Farmingdale: The establishment plans to open on Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to its Facebook page. The plan is for an "upscale industrial themed American gastropub and craft cocktail bar," according to the restaurant. Creative casual cuisine with local ingredients is planned.

An events schedule will include cooking classes, beer and whiskey pairings, live music, dinner theater and comedy nights.

Il Pozzo Wine Bar, 46 Atlantic Ave., Lynbrook: They have house-made sangria, wines, bourbons, and specialty cocktails. Food consists of "Shareables" and "Larger Plates" with an array including fish tacos and lamb meatballs, and Prime N.Y. Strip Steak, respectively.

Paul Ammendola in a Facebook recommendation says, "atmosphere and staff were spectacular."
