To be frank, Nassau County has no shortage of places to enjoy a hot dog in Nassau County. Here are five to try.
Lido Kosher Deli, 641 1/2 E. Park Ave., Long Beach: This old fashioned Jewish deli with wood floors and booths serves stacked sandwiches and other comfort food, and of course, "dynamite hot dogs," owner Wally Goetz told Daily Voice.
"We've been providing them for four generations." The 4th generation is son Russell Goetz who recently starting working for the family business.
Of note is the deli is walking distance from the beach and boardwalk, still if you don't want to leave the beach at all you can try Lido's franks on their food truck now open for the summer at Riverside Boulevard.
Aileen R. of Oceanside said "Lido Kosher Deli is an institution," in a Yelp review. " Wally, the owner has a great variety of deli meat, chickens, salads, stuffed cabbage and anything you can possibly think of." The post mentions, "the yummy frankfurter knish" at the restaurant.
Liberty Links,154 Atlantic Ave., Freeport: This one-of-a-kind gourmet sausage shop has nine artisan sausages, five sauces, over 30 toppings, and where you can pick up the Brooklyn Hot Dog shown on the restaurant's website with chili onions and relish.
Daily Voice learned about this one from Pat Lee in a post on the Long Island Foodies group on Facebook

A menu with "Overstuffed Sandwiches", homemade soups, so much more and various dogs including one with baked beans and crispy onion straws on a brioche.

Nathan’s Famous Restaurant, 2807 Long Beach Road, Oceanside: Restaurant fast-food chain born in Coney Island specializing in hot dogs.
Leana. F. of New York liked this location to the one in Brooklyn on Yelp in her post, "Hands down best Nathan's I've been to, including Coney! Food was incredibly fresh, prices were great, and staff was polite and helpful."
Shake Shack, 1570 Union Turnpike, North New Hyde Park: While burgers are boss here their "Flat-Top Dogs" all-beef franks are split and griddle crisp. Choices are chicken or beef, plain or with toppings.
