Sterling National Bank July 4th Fireworks at Jones Beach State Park, 1 Ocean Parkway, Wantagh: On Thursday, July 4 fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. at Central Mall though spectators are urged to arrive hours before.

George Gorman, deputy regional director of New York State Parks for the Long Island Region, advised revelers to arrive early in order to avoid long lines entering the beach.

Traffic should spike around 6 p.m. State police will divert traffic away from Jones Beach if parking lots fill to capacity. The cost to enter the park is $10 per vehicle, charged only until 4 p.m.

Valley Stream's 27th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Show, Firemen's Field, Emerson Place, Valley Stream: On Thursday, July 4, with a July 5 rain date, at 6:30 p.m. Call 516-872-6003 for advance tickets ($8) or buy them at the gate ($10).

Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at the Long Island Ducks, 3 Court House Drive, Central Islip: Post-game fireworks celebrating Independence Day. All-Stars baseball game time is 6:35 p.m. Thursday, July 4. Gates open one hour before the game. Call  631-940-3825  or click here for tickets. Asharoken’s Fireworks, Asharoken Village Hall, Northport: On Thursday, July 4 at 9:20 p.m. fireworks will be launched from a barge in the Long Island Sound.

Glen Cove’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration: 9 p.m. Thursday, July 4 at Morgan Memorial Park.
