Duck Donuts announced that the grand opening for its first Nassau County location will take place on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 9 a.m.

The new shop is located at 2425 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park in City Park Plaza, representatives said.

Guests who visit the new store between Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 23, will receive a free donut.

The shop is owned by Omar Athar and Sana Rafique, who both grew up in the Garden City Park area and now live in Suffolk County.

“In 2020, we drove 50 minutes to visit the Hauppauge Duck Donuts location,” Rafique said. “Since there was no indoor seating allowed at the time, we devoured half a dozen warm, soft cake donuts using the trunk of our car as a table! We were hooked from the first bite and spent the whole drive home talking about how we could help bring a location closer to us. Omar reached out about opening this location the very next day!”

Representatives also said 5 percent of the opening weekend's sales will be given to Cohen Children's Medical Center.

The chain also operates locations in Selden and Hauppauge.
