The Black Sheep Ale House made the announcement on Monday, Aug. 2. The business is located in Mineola.

"From this moment forward, until further notice, The Black Sheep is VAX ONLY. Proof required for entry. Sorry, not sorry," the business wrote in a Facebook post.

Nassau County, where the bar is located, had a high level of community transmission of COVID-19 in the week of Tuesday, July 27, through Monday, Aug. 2, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

This means the CDC recommends everyone, including fully vaccinated people, wear masks in indoor public spaces.

Other businesses have made similar announcements as outbreaks of the delta variant have continued across parts of the United States.

On Tuesday, Aug. 3, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that on Sept. 13, the city will begin enforcing a new program requiring proof of vaccination prior to entry for indoor dining, entertainment, and gyms.
