A violent altercation at a Westchester gas station left one man hospitalized with a head injury and resulted in the arrest of two people, including the victim's son, police said.

A youth bystander was caught in the effects of pepper spray when police officers nabbed a shoplifting suspect at a Target in Westchester, authorities said.
According to White Plains Public Safety, police responded to Target at 9 City Pl on Wednesday, March 12, at 7:12 p.m., after store employees reported a shoplifting incident.
Officers arrested a 58-year-old man from the Bronx, who was accused of stealing more than $250 worth of merchandise. However, when police attempted to take him into custody, the suspect, whose name was not released, allegedly resisted arrest.

A 70-year-old Northern Westchester woman was seriously injured during a crash on Route 6.
Paulette L. Milligan, of Somers, was driving a Chevy Aveo eastbound around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, when she attempted to pass a 2017 Jeep Cherokee on Route 6 near Windsor Road, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks.

Five Found Unconscious On Northern Westchester Lawn From Drinking Too Much, Police Say
Five people in their early 20s were hospitalized and treated by EMS after being found unconscious on the lawn of a residence in Northern Westchester.
The incident took place around 8:18 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, when New York State Police responded to a residence in Lincolndale, a hamlet of Somers, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
When state police arrived, all five were passed out on the lawn of the residence, according to Hicks.
The group had apparently consumed too much alcohol, Hicks said.
All are expected to survive, he said.
Multiple Police Forces Hold Active Shooter Drill At Fox Lane High School
In the wake of the Parkland High School shooting in Florida and numerous "threats" to local schools made online, the Town of Bedford Police Department conducted an active shooter drill with numerous departments.
The drill, held Saturday, at Fox Lane High School, including officers from Bedford, Westchester County, North Castle, Pound Ridge and Yorktown police departments.
