MT. KISCO, N.Y. - School-aged children, parents and teachers flooded the streets of Mount Kisco last week as Mount Kisco Elementary School students participated in International Walk to School Day.
International Walk to School Day serves as a reminder for students and parents alike to get outside and exercise. The day also encourages building friendships within the community.
"We joined millions of children from around the world who also took part in this international event," said Nanci Colangelo, a consulting teacher at the school. "There was beautiful weather, lots of smiles, and a great turnout from our students, staff, and families."
" We would like to thank our students, families and staff, as well as the Mount Kisco Police Department and Fire Department for all of their support," said Colangelo. "We are grateful for their tremendous help and assistance and for joining our 'walking school buses.'"
