Westchester Man Charged With DWI After One-Car Crash On Sprain Brook Parkway

A Westchester man involved in a one-car crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway was arrested by New York State Police troopers for alleged impaired driving over the weekend.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, New York State Police troopers from the Hawthorne barrack responded to the entrance ramp of the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers, where there was a report of a one-car crash involving an area resident.

Police said that the investigation into the crash determined that Joel Garcia, 31, of Yonkers, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and he was taken into custody.

In total, troopers removed 21 alleged impaired drivers during the weekend in the Hudson Valley.

Garcia was arrested and charged by New York State Police with aggravated driving while intoxicated for having a blood alcohol content nearly double the legal limit. He was released following his processing and scheduled to appear in area court at a future date.
