Yorktown police announced on Thursday that Palmina Hernandez, 52, was arrested on a felony charge of fourth-degree larceny following a lengthy investigation into her theft of a wallet at the Winery at Saint George in Mohegan Lake.

According to police, shortly before midnight on Nov. 2 last year, officers were dispatched to the winery for a report of a larceny in the past of a wallet that contained cash and credit cards. The subsequent investigation determined that an unknown female stole a wallet from a table.

As the investigation continued, police were able to identify Hernandez as a suspect, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On Tuesday afternoon, she turned herself into custody at the Yorktown Police Headquarters.

Hernandez was arraigned by Judge Salvatore Lagonia and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, March 7.
