Area Man Behind Bars After Being Charged With Possession Of Child Porn

A 60-year-old man is behind bars after state police say he was found to be in possession of child pornography.

An investigation by the Rhinebeck Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the State Police Troop K Computer Crimes Unit, and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office determined Poughkeepsie resident Kevin M. Werner possessed multiple images containing what he knew or believed to be child pornography.

On Monday, March 11, State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested Werner and charged him with three counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony.

Werner was arraigned before the Town of Milan Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secure bond. 

Werner is next scheduled to appear before the town of Poughkeepsie Court on Wednesday, March 13.
