Martha Irwan suggested “The Goldfinch,” which she noted had good reviews. Discussing its popularity, she noted that the book has had hundreds of hold requests. Mount Kisco’s library has several copies.

Irwan also recommended “Orange is the New Black,” the Piper Kerman book that led to the Netflix series of the same name. She noted that people in her book group, which is called the Brown Bag Book Group, liked it because they got a different perspective on the women’s prison system.

Maria Ciccone, a youth services librarian, discussed books for children of different ages. For younger kids she recommended “I’m Bored” by Michael Ian Black, as well as “Mr. Tiger Goes Wild” by Peter Brown. A recommendation she had for older kids is “Mr. Lemoncello’s Library” by Chris Grabenstein.
