What's Happening in Mount Kisco This Week

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Here’s a look at events happening in Mount Kisco this week, including government meetings and community happenings. Monday, April 9

Village Board of Trustees Meeting: 7:30 p.m. Trustees will discuss the level of Byram Lake, and new members of the Leonard Park Committee and the Zoning Board of Appeals will be inducted. Each new member will serve a five-year term. Village Board Room. 

Operatic Voices: 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Susan Grunthal will examine the beauty, variety and complexity of opera singers' voices and roles. Held at the Mount Kisco Public Library, the class will give participants the opportunity to compare and contrast the qualities of opera stars. 

Tuesday, April 11

Planning Board Meeting: 7:30 p.m. At village hall, the board will discuss, among other items, Westchester Burger’s proposal for outdoor dining. 

BCSD Finance Subcommittee Meeting: 7:45 p.m. The finance subcommittee meeting will take place at the Bedford Central School District Central Office.

Wednesday, April 11                                                                                               

Board of Education Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The board of education will meet at the Little Theatre at Fox Lane Middle School, where the superintendent will present the revised budget to the board. The board will vote on whether or not to approve the budget on April 18. The regular school budget vote is May 15.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Council Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The group will hold their bimonthly meeting at village hall.

Building Strong Parent-Child Connections: 10 a.m. Tara Brown, educator, coach and author of “Different Cultures, Common Ground” will give a lecture at Rippowam Cisqua School at the Cisqua Campus at 325 West Patent Road. Her lecture will discuss how parents should make an effort to appreciate the gifts and strengths their children naturally possess, which she says is a great step in strengthening parent-child connections. 

Thursday, April 12

Fox Lane Middle School Association Meeting: 9:30 a.m. The FLMSA will meet at Fox Lane Middle School. 

Story Time at Mount Kisco Public Library: 11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. There will be a special story time at the library for children 18 months to 5 years old.
