Halloween Brings Scary Tales and Crafts to Library

MOUNT KISCO, NY-- The Mount Kisco Library will not be holding Story Times Thursday or Friday at their regularly scheduled time of 11:15 a.m. Regular Story Times and Music Movement classes will resume on October 17.

“Although we're not having our regular Story Times this week, we're planning on a very special Halloween story and craft time on Wednesday, October 26,” said Deirdre Johnson, Youth Services department head.

The library will be having a special Halloween themed story time in the children's section at 4:30 p.m. on October 26. Scary, yet age-appropriate, stories will be available for those in attendance.

There will also be a Halloween craft time going on at the same time, where children and their parents are encouraged to bring their own pumpkins to decorate at the library. The event is for children ages four and up with adult supervision.

“We've been collecting toilet paper roll tubes for this event for the children to create a monster from,” said Johnson. “It's a creative project and even good for the environment as we're repurposing the toilet paper roll tubes that most people just toss out.”
