Don Sussman, president of Stop & Shop's New York Metro Division, announced the tentative timetable in a Thursday press release. Should the switch begin as planned, according to Sussman, the store would close on Nov. 13 and reopen on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The conversion will involve a remodeling of the store so that it is rebranded.

Describing the plans in a statement, the company notes, "While the extent of the remodels and addition of new amenities continue to vary by store, each store will reopen as a Stop & Shop store and be refreshed with modern décor, updated refrigeration systems, new lighting, state-of-the-art technology, and other improvements. New and vibrant signage will show Stop & Shop’s low prices and exciting promotions."

Stop & Shop acquired the Mount Kisco A&P, which is located at 195 North Bedford Road, in an auction held earlier this fall. It won the auction by making a competitive bid worth more than $25 million.

Last year, the Mount Kisco A&P was the chain's highest-earning store overall, according to a court filing. The purchase price is far more than the figures for another stores in Westchester County, which have run in the seven figures.

The store is located in Mount Kisco Commons, a shopping center owned by Urban Edge, which is a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT).
