New Year's Day has started with milder temperatures after the mercury climbed above the 50-degree mark overnight.
But the temperature will drop during the afternoon, falling to the low-40s, after clouds give way to sunshine.
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1. The strongest winds are expected between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Impacts may include downed trees, large branches and power lines, with scattered power outages expected, according to the National Weather Service.
Sustained winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, with a few gusts up to 55 mph are possible through noontime.
A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Drivers are urged to use extra caution.
Wednesday, Jan. 2 will be colder, with a high in the low-30s. There's a chance of some snow overnight into the morning on Thursday, Jan. 3.
