A Westchester man faces multiple weapons charges after being caught with loaded firearms and large-capacity magazines, prosecutors announced.
Malachi Beccan, age 27, of Mount Vernon, was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Thursday, Feb. 13, following an indictment on weapons charges, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office announced.
According to court documents, Beccan was found in possession of two loaded firearms—a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol and a Cobray 9mm pistol—on Jan. 23, 2025. He was also allegedly in possession of five large-capacity magazines.

A 40-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly speeding in a stolen vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester, police said.
The incident occurred late on Tuesday, Feb. 4, when a Yorktown Police officer noticed a vehicle traveling at high speeds on the southbound Taconic State Parkway, Yorktown Police announced on Monday, Feb. 10.
Upon pulling the vehicle over, the officer discovered that the vehicle's license plate had been reported stolen out of Pennsylvania, the department said.

A caregiver is accused of betraying the trust of an elderly Westchester woman by illegally writing nearly $10,000 in checks from her account, police said.
Amie Faye, age 35, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and charged in connection with the alleged theft, the City of Rye Police Department announced.
