According to reports, Trump issued more than a dozen checks from his personal bank account in New York last week to various veteran’s charities, with the largest being sent to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF) in Tuckahoe on May 24.
Trump reportedly donated more than $5 million to 41 veterans groups in the past few months. This marks the second time he has donated to the MC-LEF, following a $100,000 donation from his charity earlier this year.
According to the MC-LEF, they have awarded more than $67 million in scholarships and other humanitarian assistance since its founding in 1995. They have assisted nearly 4,000 children in Westchester in more than a decade.
Through the aid of donations, the MC-LEF provides $30,000 for every child that loses a parent serving in the Marine Corps or while acting as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. As the organization continues to grow, they have also expanded their services to include providing medical equipment and financial support to Marines injured in battle.
Sue Boulhosa, who serves as the MC-LEF executive director could not immediately be reached for comment on Wednesday afternoon.
Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
