MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Two men were charged with possession of a forgery device, a felony, after being caught skimming an ATM in the city, officials said.
The Mount Vernon mayor's office said Christian Dumitrescu, 27, and Marius Stanga, 39, were arrested outside of Chase Bank, 515 S. Columbus Ave. Both men claimed to be homeless, officials said.
The mayor's office said the U.S. Secret Service tipped off the Mount Vernon Police Department last week about the alleged skimming plan, which led to the arrests of the two men.
