Man Faces Drug Charges Following Newburgh Traffic Stop

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – A Brooklyn man is facing drug charges after State Police found the illegal stimulant KHAT in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Newburgh, authorities said.

Troopers pulled Kaid M. Addailam, 30, over on Interstate 87 on Wednesday night just after 9 p.m. for a moving violation. A subsequent search turned up roughly 77 grams of KHAT or  cathinone, state police said. 

Addailam was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and was taken to Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Addailam is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 19.
