Mount Vernon Convict Found Guilty Of Assaulting Two Men With Bat

Robert Johnson, 33, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty by a Westchester County jury of two counts of attempted assault and one count of criminal possession of a weapon after he attacked two men with a bat in October.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., said that Johnson was found guilty of attacking the two men at approximately 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Fifth Street in Mount Vernon on Oct. 6, 2018.

The entire incident was caught on video by surveillance cameras. Scarpino noted that Johnson has two previous felony convictions.

Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
