A woman is facing a series of charges after being busted with drugs near a Route 22 gas station in Southeast.
Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. announced the arrest of Brewster resident Bernadette Mullen, 24, who is facing two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of marijuana following a stop for violating vehicle and traffic laws.
Langley said that shortly before noon on June 1, a Deputy Sheriff stopped Mullen for violations at the Gulf gas station off Route 22 in Southeast. During the traffic stop, it was determined that Mullen was in possession of a partially smoked marijuana cigarette, and unprescribed prescription medications that are alleged to be Xanax and Suboxone, leading to her arrest at the scene.
Following arraignment, Mullen was released on her own recognizance and is due back in Town of Southeast Justice Court later this month to answer the charges.
