A man from Westchester is facing charges after police say he violated a protective order in Greenwich.
James Venia, 24, of Rye Brook appeared at Stamford Superior Court for an unrelated hearing on Tuesday, March 26. Greenwich Police officers knew of an active warrant for Venia’s arrest, charging him with second-degree threatening and violation of a protective order.
While in court, Venia was detained and turned over to Greenwich Police Department, where officers made a positive identification and placed Venia under arrest.
Venia was transported, processed and charged as per the warrant. He was unable to post is $500,000 bond and is being held at Greenwich Police Department Headquarters. Venia is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday, April 9.
