Morning Fire Destroys Putnam Home

A home under construction in Putnam County was destroyed when a fire broke out early on Friday, Dec. 13.

Officials said that a home being built on Canopus Hollow Road went up in flames at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday in Putnam Valley. It is unclear what caused the fire, which fully engulfed the frame of the home.

First responders from the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Continental Village Volunteer Fire Department, Garrison Fire Department, North Highlands Engine Company and Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services responded to the scene.
