Man Steals Thousands In Northern Westchester Restaurant Burglary, Police Say

A man suspected of breaking into a Northern Westchester restaurant and stealing thousands of dollars worth of liquor has been charged with burglary and grand larceny, police say.

New York State Police say Wade Scheuritzel Jr., 34, of Orchard Park in upstate New York forced his way into Redline Roadhouse on Albany Post Road in the town of Cortlandt on Saturday, July 13.

Police say Scheuritzel Jr. caused damage to the window during his entry and consumed alcoholic beverages once inside the building.

Scheuritzel Jr. also defecated on the floor and ultimately stole more than $2,000 worth of liquor from the establishment, according to police.

Scheuritzel Jr. was arrested after an investigation by the New York State Police and the Peekskill Police Department on Tuesday, July 16. Scheuritzel Jr. faces the following charges:

  • Third-degree burglary, a Class D felony
  • Third-degree criminal mischief
  • Fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class E felony

Scheuritzel Jr. was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and release to the custody of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department on an outstanding matter. He is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, July 18.
