A 34-year-old man was found dead in Westchester in an apparent suicide.
Officers responded to 340 South Central Ave. just before 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, on a report of a man down and not breathing, Greenburgh Police Department Sgt. Brian Matthews said.
The man, who officers located on the ground, was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted injury, Matthews. The scene was secured and a crime scene established.
Greenburgh detectives responded along with the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office. No evidence at the scene suggested any foul play, according to Matthews.
The investigation is continuing and the identification of the man is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin and the findings of the Medical Examiner. The nature of the self-inflicted injury was not disclosed.
