Man Faces DWI Charge After Crash In Northern Westchester

A 59-year-old man was arrested for alleged drinking and driving after being involved in a midday, one-car crash in Northern Westchester.

Officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to Granite Springs Road near the intersection of Quaker Church Road in Yorktown Heights shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, where there was a reported one-vehicle crash.

According to police, upon arrival, the investigation into the crash determined that the driver, Yorktown resident Arthur Tullberg was allegedly intoxicated and had a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent. It is further alleged that Tullberg failed to maintain his lane of travel before crashing, investigators noted.

Tullberg was arrested at the scene and charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent, both misdemeanors. Following his arraignment, Tullberg was released to a sober third party and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, March 21 to answer the charge.
