Bedford Central School District Superintendent Christopher Manno sent an email to parents at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday, April 12, advising that they had been notified of an incident involving a student that took place at a bus stop in Pound Ridge earlier.

The nature of the incident has not been released, though New York State Police investigators were interviewing neighbors and witnesses later in the morning, a spokesperson said. Manno said that the student is safe and with family. Police said that the incident was non-life-threatening to the student or anyone else.

In his email to parents, Manno said, “as always, please be attentive to your children when they travel to and from the bus stop.”

More information is expected to be released as New York State and Pound Ridge police continue their investigation.
