A bicyclist was hospitalized with a serious head injury after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist on a busy road near the Saw Mill River Parkway in Westchester, police said.
A man - whose name has not been released - was struck shortly after 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 on Yonkers Avenue at the parkway, police said. The victim was taken to a local trauma center for treatment, though his condition was unclear early on Wednesday afternoon, May 22.
The driver fled the scene and Yonkers Avenue was temporarily shut down both ways as police investigated the crash.
