Patrick Federice, Child-Care Counselor In Westchester, Dies At 37

A childcare counselor in Westchester, Patrick Christopher Federice, of Pelham, died Monday, Aug. 26, at age 37.

Born Feb. 24, 1982, in New Rochelle Hospital to William and Margaret, Federice was one of four children. 

He was raised in Pelham where he attended Hutchinson School before graduating from Pelham Memorial High School in 2000. 

Federice obtained an associate's degree in business from Westchester Community College and continued his education at Concordia College. 

After graduating college, he worked as a childcare counselor for St. Christopher's in Dobbs Ferry where he enjoyed working with children with special needs.

He loved baseball, basketball, softball, and football. He played competitively throughout school. Federice was also an avid Yankees and Dolphins fan.

When he was not on the sports field he was listening to music, playing with his dog Ricky or adding to his sneaker collection. He was a suave dresser and took great pride in his appearance.

Federice will be remembered as "big-hearted, caring, funny, kind, brave and compassionate person. He was loyal, supportive and would always have your back," the obituary said.

He is survived by his parents William and Margaret, his son Luca; his twin sister Lauren (Ryan) Downs, his brother Nick (Melissa) and Jason Federice. 

A celebration of his life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham on Friday, Aug. 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A mass of Christian burial will take place at St Catharines Church, 25 Second Avenue, Pelham on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m.
