A yearlong investigation into the gang led to the seizure of 73 illegal weapons that were trafficked into Suffolk County through an “Iron Pipeline,” with most of the weapons coming to Long Island through Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina, Suffolk County Attorney Timothy Sini said.

Those charged include:

  • Curtis Bostic, 28, of Hempstead;
  • Scott Brown, 25, of Middle Island;
  • Matthew Edwards, 52, of Huntington Station;
  • Leroy Jones, 31, of Deer Park;
  • Ed Lariviere, 24, of Bellport;
  • Shannon McKeever, 31, of Patchogue;
  • Damar Parler, 35, of Lynchburg, Virginia;
  • Tavon Pascal, 22, of Huntington Station;
  • Jasmine Sexton, 37, of Huntington Station;
  • Tameeka Stevens, 35, of Lynchburg, Virginia.

Warrants have been issued for other suspects allegedly involved in the gun-running.

According to Sini, Parler would purchase firearms from string buyers in Virginia and coordinate the illegal sales with Sexton, a family member. Sexton would, in turn, coordinate with her boyfriend, Bostic, and they used Jones to pick up the guns and complete sales.

Jones also allegedly coordinated sales with Edwards, Lariviere, Brown, and Pascal.

The suspects each face a host of charges, that include conspiracy and criminal sale of a firearm.

“This was an extremely complex and dangerous investigation,” Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini said during a press conference.“Only God knows how many crimes were prevented by the work of law enforcement here. Each one of these guns could have been used in a crime.

“Essentially what you had here was a large operation of gang members that were retrieving guns in the Iron Pipeline through straw purchases,” Sini added. “These are individuals who do not have criminal convictions and are able to walk into a store and buy weapons. Those individuals would then divert the weapons to this criminal enterprise.”
