Salvatore Renda, 55, of New Rochelle, is in critical condition following the incident which took place around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at an overpass in New Rochelle, said Trooper Tara McCormick.
According to McCormick, police were dispatched to investigate a serious injury accident which involved a pedestrian falling from the Webster Avenue overpass on I-95 southbound in New Rochelle.
When officers arrived on the scene they found Renda had climbed over the overpass fencing and down an I-beam before falling to the roadway below, hitting the truck during the fall.
Renda was transported to Jacobi Hospital for life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in critical condition.
